Zhang, Kirk (1952---) was born in Beijing. In 1986, Mr. Zhang comes to the U.S. and studied in Department of Fine Arts in the New York Institute of Technology. Mr. Zhang is the current associate dean of American Academy of Painting and Calligraphy of Las Vegas Branch, and he is also the vice president of the American Artists Association. Furthermore, Mr. Zhang’s art works "Zhang, Daqian", "Qi, Baishi" were codified in to the North American Chinese Artists Celebrity in 1992. In 1995, in China’s event ---- "Long live the motherland Grand Prix", the representative of Mr. Zhang ---- "Qi Baishi" was won the "Excellence Award." In 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama, who won the World Nobel Peace Prize, had collected Mr. Zhang’s substantial Chinese traditional style portrait painting of Mr. President himself. In 2011, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Revolution National Chinese Painting Exhibition, Mr. Zhang’s art work "spirit lives forever" ---- Sun Yat-sen was selected and traveled with the Shenzhou VIII Spacecraft in space for traveled seventeen days. In 2012, Mr. Zhang’s art work "spirit lives forever" ---- Sun Yat-sen was selected by the first World Overseas Chinese Calligraphy Art Exhibition, and the painting was also collected by the Chinese Overseas Museum. In October 8, 2013, Zhang Kirk’s art work “Things for the People”, which is a portrait of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, through Mr. Sun Yat-sen’s granddaughter Miss Sun, Huifang gave to Taiwan President Ma, Yingjiu as a gift of collection. In 2013, Mr. Zhang’s painting "Lincoln” was elected to “the American Audubon Artist's the seventy-first Outline Exhibition". In 2015, Mr. Zhang, Kirk participated the second China Light "Patton Cup" national calligraphy and painting exhibition and obtained an excellence award of figure paintings.
